Congratulations to the 3rd and 4th grade members of the Lego League who competed this past weekend in the Lego League Expo! The students were poised, excited, knew their stuff, and did a wonderful job representing St. Pius X and our STEM program. We are so proud!!!!

Team Water Base won the Inquiring Minds Award. The Savage Sharks won the Master Programmer Award. The Aqua Surfers won the Complexity and Decoration Award.

The St. Pius X Robotics Team competed in the Covington Catholic Colonel Classic - KY VEX State Qualifier this past weekend. The teams did well in their competitions and skills tests. They did a great job of working together as they competed with their robots they designed, developed and tested. Overall the teams finished in 20th and 39th place which is great considering most of the teams were high school teams at the match. The students demonstrated team work, problem solving and pizza eating skills! Way to go!

The 6th grade students have been learning about Ancient Greece, mythology, and engineering! As a STEM project the students read the Greek myths of the Trojan Horse and the Minotaur's labyrinth. They then designed their own Trojan Horses or maze and participated in competitions that judged their projects speed and design.

Our school had a great time celebrating Read Across America Week and Dr. Seuss' birthday! We enjoyed dressing as our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, eating green eggs and ham, and wearing mismatched socks and shoes! The 2nd grade was surprised with "Camp Read-A-Lot!" Their classrooms were transformed into the outdoors and they spent the day "camping out," reading their favorite books!
