St. Pius X School held a Veteran's Day prayer service on Friday, November 10th. We asked our school community to invite any veterans they may know to join us. After a short video presentation, Fr. Hennigen spoke and students representatives lead us in prayer. Our guest speaker, army reservist, Mr. Ben Bessler, talked about how his faith and childhood led him to serve, and what it means to honor a veteran.
During Panther Pause, Mrs. Farmer worked with a group of 6th-8th grade students to learn about Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead. The group studied the beliefs and traditions associated with this holiday and created an altar to honor loved ones that have passed.
The second grade marched in a Saints Parade after Mass on Friday. After choosing a saint that inspired them, the students researched the saints’ lives, wrote a report on them, and dressed as the saint for the parade.
The Panther Pumpkin Run has come and gone - what a great event for our school! It was a big success and the kids had a great time. We raised over 43,000 for playground upgrades. Thank you for your support!
The St. Pius X community experienced the “Sound of Korea Pansori”, a Korean vocal tradition, on Monday, October 9th. Cho Joo-Seon, mother of fourth grade student Sung Park and internationally known artist, performed this unique synthesis of song and speech accompanied by a string quartet.
On Friday, October 6th, St. Pius X held a living rosary. Students represented the beads of the rosary and illuminated a flashlight as each Hail Mary was said. It was beautiful to see the entire school come together to honor Our Mother Mary.
